Rarely do I see eagle on the highway side of the Yakima River in the Yakima River Canyon. This bird and its mate are year around residents and as far as I know have nested and produced young for a least four consecutive years in the same nest. After I took a few photos and watched it for about 10 minutes this bird flew across the river and landed on the pine tree next to its mate. Here it is cleaning up by rubbing its bill on the tree branch. After bill cleaning for several minutes it flew perhaps to find another fish upriver.
